Singing is personal, and many students feel more relaxed learning at home than in a studio. Our voice teachers build healthy technique in a supportive, low-pressure setting.

What students learn

  • Breath support and posture that protect the voice

  • Pitch accuracy and ear training

  • Tone, range, and control across the voice

  • Performance confidence for auditions, choir, worship teams, or recitals

Lessons apply every skill to songs the student enjoys singing. That keeps practice fun and progress easy to hear.

The right age to start

Voice lessons are often best starting around age eight, when the voice is more developed. Teens and adults can begin at any point and still make excellent progress.

Younger children who love to sing often do well starting with piano first. It trains the ear and makes later voice lessons easier.

Why families trust Evergreen Studios

Every teacher is EvergreenCertified. Each one is background-checked, trained in abuse prevention, and personally vetted before teaching in a home.

Your singer works with the same teacher every week, which matters a great deal for a voice that is still growing and changing.

Voice lessons for teens preparing for auditions

Many voice students are middle and high school singers getting ready for chorus placements, school musicals, community theater, or worship teams. A private teacher prepares a singer for the specific audition, from song choice to walking into the room. Read our guide to voice lessons for teens preparing for auditions for what that looks like.

Where we teach voice

Singers who can read music and play basic chords accompany themselves and learn new songs faster. Many families pair voice lessons with piano lessons. Younger children who love to sing often start on piano until they reach about age eight.

Our voice teachers travel to homes across Wilmington, from Ogden and Porters Neck to Monkey Junction and the beach towns. Leland families can read about voice lessons in Leland. For a full overview of how lessons work, see our parent's guide to in-home music lessons.

How to get started

Private voice lessons are $320 for one month. That covers four 45-minute lessons with the same teacher in your home.
