Drummers are the heartbeat of every band. Good drum lessons turn energy into control, timing, and real musicianship.

Evergreen Studios sends a private drum teacher to your home, so your student learns on the kit they practice on every day.

What students learn

  • Proper grip and healthy technique

  • Coordination between hands and feet

  • Steady timing and playing with a metronome

  • Reading drum notation

  • Grooves in rock, pop, worship, and other styles

Who drum lessons are for

Drums are a great fit for active kids who love rhythm, teens who want to join a band or worship team, and adults who have always wanted to play.

Students without a full kit can often begin on a practice pad and add pieces over time. Your teacher can advise on what to buy and what to skip.

Why in-home drum lessons

Drum kits are hard to move, so learning at home just makes sense. The teacher can also help set up the kit correctly, which prevents bad habits.

Every instructor is EvergreenCertified, meaning background-checked, abuse-prevention trained, and personally vetted. Your student keeps the same teacher each week.

What you need to start

You do not need a full drum kit on day one. Most beginners start with a practice pad, a pair of sticks, and a metronome app. When the student is ready, an electronic kit with headphones keeps the peace in a busy house. A small acoustic kit works well if you have the space. Your teacher will tell you when it is time and what to look for.

Drums are the hardest instrument to carry to a studio, which is why in-home lessons fit drummers so well. The student plays on their own setup, and the teacher can help with noise solutions like mesh heads and practice pads.

Where we teach drums

Our drum teachers travel to homes across Wilmington and to the surrounding towns. Leland families can read about drum lessons in Leland. Students in school band programs get technique help that a large class cannot cover. Our back-to-school guide explains how lessons fit a school-year schedule.
